To secure your booking on a course full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept your order when you receive the confirmation email from us. We may decline your order for any reason. Prices for the courses are shown on our website. If we discover an error with our pricing, we will contact you and will give you the option to continue to purchase the course.


You can view our kitchen guidelines here and they will also be available when you arrive at the cookery school. You must read through the guidelines before taking part in the course.


We aim to develop courses that suit a variety of dietary requirements and endeavour to alter dishes that are used in the course to meet the dietary requirements of our guests. For further details, please see our dietary requirement statement online.   You are required to review the course details to ensure that they suit your needs and you must inform us in writing at the time of booking or as soon as possible thereafter if you have any allergies, disabilities or are pregnant. We cannot guarantee that our kitchen is an allergen-free environment and accept no liability for any allergic reaction or other adverse reaction suffered. If you are unsure whether a course is suitable, please contact us via phone or email (contact via social media is not accepted). If you notify us within 5 days of your course that you have an allergy that we cannot accommodate, you will forfeit your place and no refund will be offered.


You must be punctual when you attend a course and we may refuse your attendance on a course if you are late.  We reserve the right to only admit attendees whose names have been provided when you book a course.  We may refuse entry/remove you from a course if in our reasonable opinion you behave in an unacceptable manner or we believe that you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You are not permitted to bring alcohol to our cookery school.


We do not advise that you bring items of special or high value onto our premises. We do not accept responsibility for damage to or the loss of your personal possessions and accept no responsibility if you take food items out of the cookery school.


Unless otherwise stated in the course details (such as our Parent & Child courses where children between 9-15 are accepted with a fully paying adult) the minimum age for course participants is 13 when booked to join a fully paying adult.  We do not accept individuals under the age of 16 unless they are accompanied by a fully paying adult. Children remain the responsibility of their parent or carer and must be supervised at all times at the cookery school.


Our cookery school is located in the Catton Estate which has other businesses and a working farm on site. You are required to take all reasonable care when attending a course.


Copyright of any course material provided to you is owned or licensed by us. We will not be liable for any loss suffered by you which is indirect, special or consequential and our aggregate liability to you, whether our liability arises in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for any damages, loss, costs, claims or expenses of any kind however arising or in connection with any booking (or requested booking) made by you shall be limited to the price paid by you in respect of your booking to attend the class or course.



We reserve the right to cancel, suspend or vary a course if events occur which are outside of our reasonable control (including extreme weather, pandemic or power failure) and we will not be liable for any loss resulting from such an event. If we cancel a course, we will offer an alternative course but will not be held liable for any other costs incurred, such as travel or accommodation costs.


Courses will only take place if the minimum number is met. If, within a reasonable period prior to the course date, the number of minimum bookings has not been met we reserve the right to cancel a course and an alternative date/course will be given.


Our courses are planned in advance and as such, you are not entitled to cancel a course and obtain a refund if you no longer can or want to attend it. However, if you cancel over 6 weeks before the start of the course, you can choose an alternative date or course of an equivalent value.  In this instance, transfers are subject to availability and a transfer fee may be payable.  In certain circumstances we may, at our discretion, allow you to transfer your booking to a friend or family member.


If you cancel within 8 weeks of the course, no transfers are permitted and you will forfeit your place.  You must contact us as soon as possible by phone or email to cancel a course (contact via social media is not accepted).


We strongly recommend that you have insurance to cover you not being able to attend for any reason such as illness, hospital appointments, children’s illness or bereavement.  If you already have travel and holiday insurance this may cover you, we recommend that you check your policy is an all year-round policy and it covers you for events such as cookery courses.


Gift vouchers 

Gift vouchers can be purchased in printed form or electronically. Gift vouchers must be redeemed within 12 months from date of purchase. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and no refund is available after 14 days of purchase. Printed gift vouchers will be sent out within a week of purchase and electronic vouchers will be sent within 24 hours.  If you require the gift voucher urgently, please notify us and we will do our best to meet your requirements.


Gift voucher recipients must book onto a course prior to the course date.  When the recipient has booked onto a course our terms and conditions above (including the cancellation) applies.  If the recipient would like to upgrade onto a more expensive course, they are required to pay the difference when booking.  If they book onto a course of lesser value, a credit note will remain on their account, redeemable against any other course.


When redeeming your gift voucher, the issue number must be provided and the gift voucher brought with you on the course date or posted to us in advance of the course.  Gift vouchers are subject to verification at the time of presentation.
