Sumayya Usmani is a food writer and cookery teacher. Born and raised in Pakistan, her heritage has a strong influence on the food she cooks. Flavouring and spices are absolute key components of her recipes.

After 12 years in law, Sumayya decided to turn her love to flavours into her day job. From then on, her career in the food industry has blossomed. Sumayya is now the author of two award-winning cookbooks, which reminisce about food from her homeland, which she learnt from her mother and grandmothers.

Sumayya has since worked with a wide range of well-known names in the food industry, from Madhur Jaffrey and Rachel Allen to Sophie Grigson. She has also appeared in print and on the radio, including Delicious magazine, BBC Good Food and BBC Radio 1 and 2. In fact, BBC Good Food has  named her their ‘go-to’ expert on Pakistani food.

You’ll be in great hands on the day, as Sumayya has years of experience teaching in a number of schools around the UK. We are delighted to have Sumayya now joining the team here at Seasoned. Sumayya is teaching two different courses with her currently, please see the details below
