Throughout the day you’ll enjoy the food you’ve cooked in our dining room with your fellow cooks. A lovely way to share your experiences in creating these delicious dishes.

- Creating the right balance of spices and flavours across a range of traditional Mediterranean dishes
- How to make a range of starters, main courses and salad style dishes
- How to make flatbreads
- Creating marinades for beef
- How to make two easy yet delicious desserts
This one day class is designed to give you confidence in using all of these techniques. You’ll be able to recreate all the dishes at home, along with some different variations you can make to each recipe.
Your chef tutor
The expert chef teaching this Mediterranean cooking class, Jenny Chandler, has published two books on Mediterranean food. She has travelled and worked around the Mediterranean for many years both on yachts and on land. She’s used her travels to pick up the essence of different Mediterranean cuisines. Jenny is keen to share her knowledge and passion for Mediterranean cuisine, and the incredible variety of tastes from across the region.
About your day
Our cookery courses take place on the Catton Estate. On the picturesque Derbyshire border, we are only minutes from the A38 and close to the A50 and M6. We have plenty of free parking.
You’ll have the support of our “kitchen fairies” throughout the day, along with all the ingredients, use of an apron for the day and all the equipment you’ll need.
Throughout the day you will be able to sit down and enjoy the food that you have created. We’ll also offer you either a soft drink or a well-deserved glass of wine. After all, the Mediterranean diet does advocate red wine, in moderation, of course.
Our day courses run from 10.15am to 4 pm. Join the team for early morning coffee or tea from 10 am.
