Inspired Japanese Cooking Classes
Throughout the day, Andrew will demonstrate a variety of dishes which you will be able to try, and will develop your understanding of the key Japanese ingredients. You will get to enjoy dishes like miso soup, mirin, and try some different soy sauces.
Throughout the day you’ll stop to eat the food you’ve cooked in our private dining room with everyone else. A chance to share your experiences in creating the dishes as well as great food.

- Knife skills to create sashimi
- Making marinades and accompanying sauces
This one-day Japanese cooking class is perfect for those wanting to enhance their cooking ability, trying new flavour combinations and different dishes. The aim is that you will leave the cookery school with the confidence to repeat the dishes over and over again at home.
Your chef tutor
Andrew Kojima, based in the Cotswolds, it a British-Japanese chef who has had a very successful career to date. After appearing on the TV program, MasterChef in 2012, Andrew soon became known within the food industry as one to watch. His time on MasterChef was lengthy, as he reached the final. Since then, Andrew turned professional and now teaches at a variety of cookery schools & demonstration areas. His true passion is Japanese cookery as it is where his heart & heritage lie. Andrew has found himself cooking for the likes of the queen, supermodels and Hollywood royalty, so his food & style is known by many. He is a true professional and aims to give some of his hints and tips away during his courses.
About your day
This Japanese cooking class will take place on the Catton Hall Estate, which is just minutes form the A38. There is ample onsite parking around the picturesque estate.
You’ll have the support of our “kitchen fairies” who’ll ensure you have everything you need. We’ll provide an apron for the day, and all the equipment and ingredients.
You’ll be sitting down together during the day to eat the dishes you’ve created. We’ll also provide wine and soft drinks.
Our day courses run from 10.15am to 4pm. Join the team for early morning refreshments from 10am.
