About Jack Lucas
A MasterChef finalist in 2014, Jack Lucas was one of the youngest chefs in that year’s competition. He thought his relative inexperience would see him out after the first few rounds. In what was acknowledged to be one of the show’s strongest, and closest, finals, Jack only just lost out to the eventual winner, Ping Coombes.
Jack’s time on MasterChef propelled his passion for cooking forward. He has spent five months travelling the world, picking up new flavours and techniques for his dishes. Jack is also a brand ambassador for Sainsbury’s, sharing new recipes via their website, as well as creating new recipes for their product ranges.
His menus reflect the many influences on modern British cooking, bringing exciting twists to classic ingredients. Jack has been much in demand for private dining experiences, and a typical menu might see him include influences from Vietnam, India and Thailand. At the heart of his cooking, though, is an understanding of the great produce available around the UK, and his recipes really showcase that.
