About the Course

Join us for this one day Italian cooking class and learn the inspiration behind rustic Italian cooking, as well as the techniques to cook traditional Italian food in your own kitchen.

Your chef for the day will be Sara Danesin Medio, BBC Masterchef finalist, renowned for her exceptional cooking and Italian heritage. Take a look at the video below to see your chef cooking on Masterchef.

Techniques you will learn on this cookery course:

  • How to prepare seafood and create a seafood stock
  • Make silky smooth pasta from scratch using a pasta machine
  • Make a traditional Italian pasta sauce
  • How to transform simple fresh ingredients into a traditional Italian dish
  • How to make panna cotta from scratch
  • How to make your dishes stand out in terms of flavour and presentation

Recipes on this Italian cooking class: * 

  • Fresh seafood risotto
  • Pasta pappardelle with a wild mushroom, pancetta and thyme cream sauce
  • Aubergine alla parmigiana with freshly made pesto
  • Mango panna cotta with passion fruit glaze and black olive caramel

Italian Dinner Party

Lunch is provided on every cookery course as well as all equipment and aprons. You will enjoy the food that you have created throughout the day.  On Sara's Italian course, your lunch will be a delicious risotto, that you will enjoy along with a glass of wine in our dining room.  Your pasta creations will be enjoyed mid afternoon, followed by your Italian dessert at the end of the day.  

All of our cookery course take place at our cookery school on the Catton Hall estate on the Derbyshire / Staffordshire border.
