About the Course

Christmas is a time for indulgence and what could be a better way than a day to treat yourself, learning how to create delicious festive delights under the guidance of an expert celebrity chef. This one day Christmas baking course will teach you some brilliant bakes to treat your family and friends with over the festive period.

Your chef for the day will be Beca Lyne-Pirkis , BBC Great British Bake Off finalist. Beca, is a passionate baker, her enthusiastic teaching style makes the kitchen a fun and relaxed environment.

Techniques you will learn on this Christmas baking course:

- Bread making using enriched dough 

- Making & shaping dough into multiple rolls

- Making sable pastry, a versatile pastry for different decadent occasions 

- A quick and easy family recipe, perfect for baking with young children at Christmas

- Learning to make and bake a moist and perfectly cooked torte with a chocolate gnache glaze

- Stilton, fig and walnut sable biscuits   

- Rudolf cookies 

- Indulgent chocolate amaretti torte

Our Christmas baking course has been the highlight of the festive calendar for the previous two years. We change the bakes every year so that previous customers are very welcome to come back and enjoy the day again.

Lunch is provided on every cookery course as well as all equipment and aprons to use on the day. For this Christmas baking course will need to bring three large tins so you are able to take your delicious, freshly made bakes home with you in one piece.

All Seasoned cookery classes take place at our cookery school, which is located on the Catton Hall estate in South Derbyshire. There is ample free parking at our venue, which is easily accessible from the A38.

Please inform us when booking onto the course if you have any allergies, dietary requirements or are vegetarian.
