Posted on 14/04/14

It is that time of year again when the daffodils are blooming, the lambs are bleating and chocolate eggs are being devoured all over the country. It can only be one thing; Easter!

We want you to have a stress-free Easter break, so here at Seasoned, we have compiled a list of what we think are the top 5 Easter recipes to help you through the holidays.

Hot Cross Buns

A firm, family favourite to get you started at home. With the traditional spice mix, luscious sweet currants and sticky glaze, these buns can be enjoyed as a tea time treat around Easter, or all year round if you can’t resist!

Kedgeree Risotto

We know many of you at home associate Easter with chocolate eggs, Easter cake and other delicious sweets, but we have been inspired by Nigella’s savoury twist on an ‘Easter egg’. With delicious smokey haddock and a handful of fresh herbs, you are sure to cook up a perfect dish for all of the family.

Chocolate Recipes

If you can tear yourself (and the kids) away from your mountain of Easter eggs this year, we want to inspire you with a vast range of different chocolate recipes including chocolate eclairs and chocolate brownies! They may not be egg shaped, but these top ten chocolate recipes can involve the whole family and create tasty treats for you all to indulge in.

Spring Lamb Shepard’s Pie

We can always rely on Jamie Oliver to deliver a true British Classic. The naked chef has tweaked a classic recipe, and substituted the mince for spring lamb shoulder but we certainly aren’t complaining!

Marzipan Simnel Cake

This is the most moist and moreish Easter cake around, jam packed full of fruits, you certainly won’t be able to resist cutting another slice! Mary Berry has chosen to decorate her simnel cake with marzipan balls, however if you are feeling more adventurous, why not try your hand at flowers or other pretty decorations.
