seasoned ultimate foodie gift guide

It can be tricky finding the right present for the loved ones in your life. Here at Seasoned we’ve put together our ultimate foodie Christmas gift guide with some of our favourite presents for 2017, even for the people you think don’t like cooking.

Great British Bake Off Fan

We’re lucky enough to have two former GBBO contestants working with us at Seasoned. Beca Lyne-Pirkis and Ruth Clemens teach courses that teach a range of skills including pastry, cakes, macarons and a new doughnut course.

Beca also has a new bilingual cookbook out – Bwyd Beca / My Food.

Clueless in the kitchen

We all know someone who wants to get more confident in the kitchen but doesn’t know where to start. Our Men in the Kitchen or Culinary Confidence courses are the perfect starting point.

Chocoholic

Award-winning Will Torrent teaches a range of courses with us including chocolate patisserie and our new chocolate making course. Will’s courses are a must for chocolate and patisserie lovers. Sous Chef sell lots of harder to find ingredients for the budding patissier.

Serious foodie

All serious foodies need a good kitchen knife. We use IOShen knives on our courses, with our personal favourite being the oriental cleaver. A day on our Culinary Masterclass course or knife skills course would be the perfect partner for the knife.

Another great gadget that is a new favourite of the Seasoned team is an oven proof digital probe thermometer. Never will you have under cooked or over cooked meat again.  If you’re looking for a digital thermometer for sugarwork we’re a big fan of Thermapens.

We also love our beautiful Cornish Seasalt Salt Pig that lives on the chef bench.

Curry fan

Monisha The Indian Cooking Course

We run a range of Indian courses from beginner courses to days suitable for people who want to master the main curries and accompaniments. Our three Indian chefs: Monisha, Rayeesa and Sumayya will guide you through the recipes.

Monisha has a fabulous cookbook out – The Indian Cookery Course.

Lover of British produce and game

If you fancy a day involving gin, walk, forage, a leisurely lunch all paired with the finest British drinks Forage & Feast  with Tim Maddams is for you. One of the drinks being the delicious Two Birds gin.

Alternatively learning all about game or the best of British meat could satisfy the carnivore in your life.

Well travelled

South Indian cookery course

We’ve got international cuisine covered with courses from Italy, Spain, Thailand, the Middle East and more. All these courses bring exotic, fragrant smells to the Seasoned kitchen.

Budding Masterchef

Saliha Masterchef

Know someone who’s like to put them selves in front of Gregg Wallace and John Torode? We have a new range of MasterChef courses at Seasoned led by past finalists including 2017 winner Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed.

The entertainer

Successful entertaining is an art. We can show them how to cook the perfect menu on our Dinner Party Tips and Tricks course and as the gift giver you can hopefully reap the benefits of delicious food.

Gluten Free Baker

gluten free baking course

Steph Clubb, our resident gluten free expert, will show how to make gluten free treats on this gluten free baking course. Perfect for those who are on a gluten free diet or who want to know how to bake gluten free breads, pasties and cakes.

Indecisive one

Can’t decide what course the recipient would prefer? We do gift vouchers starting from £10. You can buy for a given amount or towards a type of course, like baking or Indian.

All-year-round BBQ fan

foodie fathers day weber grill academy at Seasoned

From early spring to autumn we run a range of BBQ courses in conjunction with Weber showing that there is more to barbecue food than burgers and sausages. Learn how to cook the perfect fish as well as a risotto and even a chocolate fondant.

And finally, for the little ones…

While we don’t do courses for children surely no self-respecting mini foodie should be without their own wooden carving set so they can mimic the grown ups on the big day.

Still can’t find the perfect foodie gift? Browse through all of our courses to get some inspiration.
