As well as cookery courses, Seasoned Cookery School also offer private parties and bespoke events.
In May we recently hosted a birthday baking day for Jinnie Payne and her friends. Our brief was to provide a fun, baking day for 9 couples hosted by Brendan Lynch, 2012 Great British Bake Off finalist.
The fun & frolics started at 10:30 & the first bake of the day was Brendan’s renowned savoury danish – an olive oil bread stuffed with peppers, pesto, walnuts, butternut squash and feta cheese.
Guests baked in pairs and moved swiftly on to a Normandy apple tart – an impressive apple tart. Guests perfected their pastry as their breads proved and seamlessly everything came together ready for lunch.
The kitchen was full of laughter and smiling faces as people baked & shared stories together. All tarts looked incredible and all the amateur bakers were impressed with their creations.
As soon as everybody entered the dining room to feast upon their bakes for lunch laughter erupted. Jinnie had organised fun extra’s to compliment the day such as personalised aprons and photographs of her guests that we showcased in our dining room.
After plenty of champagne, everybody swapped partners and the final bake of the day, choux pastry cygnets were ready to be baked and constructed. Brendan was on top form, offering advice, posing for photos and sharing stories from the Bake Off tent.
We loved hosting Jinnie and her guests & Jinnie commented afterwards;
‘We had an AMAZING time at my party. My friends haven’t stopped talking about it yet as it was so much fun. The day was just perfect with all your organisation and Brendan hosting. We now have very enthusiastic chefs due to yourself and Brendan, friends buying Kenwoods and lots of equipment from Lakeland. Your help was excellent leading up to the day and on the day and your staff were a credit to you. I have some great photos which I will email through when I get a mo. Please could you keep me informed of all the events you put on because we would love to come back and do one of the days or evenings.’
