One of the top ‘FAQ’s’ on our cookery courses, whilst chatting with the Seasoned team over coffee in the morning is ‘which are the best restaurants in the Midlands’….. So, after much debate & input from our followers on our facebook page, here is a list of some of our favourites.

Michelin Starred restaurants


Sat Bains – Nottingham 

Restaurant Sat Bains is one of the top restaurants in the country & it is an honour to have it so close to us in neighbouring Nottinghamshire. This restaurant has been awarded 2 Michelin stars so is sure to impress if you have a very special occasion coming up.  The Chef’s table is a real treat, being able to see inside the kitchen as they cook throughout a busy service.  Tables are hard to come by so booking in way advance in advance is recommended.


Adam’s -Birmingham 
Adam’s is a contemporary fine dining restaurant in Birmingham that has been awarded a converted Michelin star just 6 months after the opening in 2013. It’s aim & ethos is “not to baffle, but to excite and enthuse guests”.


The Old Vicarage  – Branston, Staffordshire

The Old Vicarage is set in the countryside surrounded by acres of beautiful lawns, which makes it a perfect backdrop to celebrate special occasions or just enjoy a relaxing meal.  Serving classical food our facebook followers voted it as one of their favourites.

Purnells – Birmingham

Purnells is a contemporary fine dining restaurant in Birmingham, which has held a Michelin star since 2009. It is located in one of Birmingham’s finest conservation areas, near to the famous Colmore row.  RUn by Glynn Purnell, Purnells restaurant pushes the boundaries of modern day cooking and is the perfect place for a special treat.

The Atrium – Birmingham

The University Collage of Birmingham runs the Atrium and in the evenings, it offers a fine dining menu with both classical and contemporary dishes.  In recent months The Atrium has been named one of the top 10 restaurants in Birmingham.


Cullen’s Restaurant – 

Owned by husband and wife, this restaurant offers great fresh and seasonal menus. Head chef Richard is the currently holds the title for ‘Staffordshire Masterchef’ finalist, so you are sure to enjoy the evening.


Mileburne Restaurant – 

The Mileburne is set in a beautiful grade II listed building in Melbourne, Derbyshire.

The Bulls Head  –

The Bulls head is draped in history, which started in 1827 with the pubs first owners Matthew and Ellen Marples. You can do to the Bulls Head for a quick mid day meal and choose from their ‘sandwich menu’ or go for an evening meal for a fun night out where they have a delicious ‘a la carte menu’.

The Saracens Head – 

The Saracens Head is set in the countryside and offers a menu that integrates traditional and contemporary food.


Our favourite Indian restaurants


Sanjeeves – Stoke on Trent 

If you are looking for first class Indian cuisine this is the place for you. Sanjeeve’s not only offers delicious food, the service has always been great which adds a lot to any dining experience.

Lasan – Birmingham 

Lasan is one of Clare’s favourite places to eat in the Midlands.  Serving fine dining Indian food the dishes are superb – full of flavour and similar to the food cooked on our contemporary indian course.  Book early – tables are hard to come by & then enjoy.  Their tandoori dishes are superb.
