On Saturday 5th September we welcomed the lovely Westlake family to Seasoned Cookery School, for a family cook & dine private party. Danielle & Jeremy invited 20 of their family members from ages 8 to 73 to their private party, to celebrate their joint 50th birthdays.
What Happened on the Evening?
The evening started at 6pm with champagne and nibbles. The family members were then split into teams for the Starter, Main & Dessert.
Each team had around one and half hours to prep & cook their individual dish. Head chef on the evening was Jeff Thomas who has over 40 years experience as a chef & began teaching courses at Seasoned in 2012. Jeff demonstrated the most complex elements of each dish to the teams before they rolled up their sleeves & starting cooking their bespoke three-course meal.

Heritage tomato & beetroot salad with goats cheese bon bons & citrus dressing
Apricot & thyme stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in Serrano ham, fondant potato, tenderstem broccoli, cider cream sauce
Bitter chocolate tart with vanilla crème fraiche
Once the teams started cooking the competition was on! The kitchen was full of energy & excitement as each team cooked their hearts out to ensure their dish was perfected!
Once the starter had been plated the Westlake family were seated in the dining room, and the starter team served the first course to their family members. The Seasoned Team then served the remaining dishes, allowing for a relaxing dinner.
On the same evening, Catton Hall hosted their annual ‘Festival of Fireworks’ which provided the perfect interlude between each course. The Westlakes had a thoroughly enjoyable private dining evening with star chefs awarded prizes from each team.
We look forward to welcoming Danielle & Jeremy back in October for another private dining party, continuing their birthday celebrations!!
