This year has seen Seasoned busier than ever with new website, new courses and a partnership with MasterChef. It’s also been a pretty busy year for all of our fabulous chefs.

Our Team

Clare welcomed a new little girl into the world in August, Sally joins her older brother and sister and is already learning to bake, in training  to be the next Bake Off judge!  Jules revamped her own blog Butcher, Baker, Baby it is full of tasty recipes and parenting tips.  Tania remains at the helm of the Seasoned kitchen and looking forward to some time off over the festive period to spend with her daughter and grandchildren.  Anna has had a busy first 6 months at Seasoned, and has being doing a super job with our new website & branding.

Curry for Change and MacMillan Coffee Morning

In October we supported the charity Curry for Change where we donated £10 for every Indian cookery course sold during that month. We also had the team behind MacMillan Coffee Morning and NPower spend a day here filming with GBBO alumni Andrew Smyth making an incredible edible wind turbine cake.

Beca Lyne-Pirkis – Bwyd Beca / My Food

Back in November Beca published her first cookbook – Bwyd Beca/ My Food. A bilingual cookbook focusing on Beca’s favourite family recipes and Welsh heritage. Our personal favourite recipe from the book is the Chocolate Amaretto Tart.

Tim Maddams – The Country Food Trust

This year Tim joined The Country Food Trust as their patron and chef. Tim’s designed a super Pheasant curry and game casserole which will be given to people in need. The charity were planning to distribute 125,000 meals this year.

Our Malaysian & Thai chef, Jackie Kearney, brought out her second book – My Vegan Travels. The Bake o’Rama Chocolate Cake is amazing.

Will Torrent – WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi

This year Will hosted WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi where countries competed against each other in 51 different skill challenges. Will was the first competitor to be awarded Medallion of Excellence back in 2007.

We also know that Will has another fabulous cookbook in the pipeline.

Rayeesa – Dragons Den

Did you spot one of our chefs, Rayeesa, on Dragons Den? Spiced by Rayeesa is a frozen curry sauce that is vegan,vegetarian, gluten free and free of additives. Rayeesa pitched to the dragons and although she didn’t get any offers she did get high praise and it has boosted the brand.

Jenny Chandler – Great Food for Kids

Jenny, along with Seasoned, are big advocates for getting kids in the kitchen and involved with food. Her cookbook Great Food for Kids came out as a hardback. It features 50 family-friendly recipes to help kids learn essential cookery skills.

Craig Floate – Supperclub at Debbie Bryan

In April Craig launched his supperclub at Debbie Bryan, Nottingham with a vegan supperclub coming in January. Past events have been very popular so it’s likely it’ll be another sellout.

New Partnerships

We’ve been working with some fabulous brands this year.

Kenwood have kindly kitted our kitchens with a brand new set of food mixers. They have been thoroughly put through their paces on our baking courses.

Cornish Sea Salt have provided the flaky sea salt we use on the courses along with the beautiful salt pig that sits on the chef bench.

Filippo Berio now sponsor all the olive oil we use on our courses and Barts Spices have been keeping us stocked up with the best spices and flavours around.
