This baking course covers the essential techniques for baking both sweet and savoury treats at home.
This course you will be taught by 2013 Great British Bake Off semi finalist Beca Lyne-Pirkis, who is extremely talented and creative. Beca is a passionate baker, and her enthusiastic teaching style makes the kitchen a fun and relaxed environment.
Techniques you will learn on this baking course:
- Pastry making, blind baking and perfect presentation techniques
- Traditional cake making suitable for a variety of flavours
- The art of kneading, shaping and bread baking
Bakes on the day will be: *
- Raspberry Frangipane Tart
- Orange & Chocolate Drizzle Cake
- Cheese and herb soda bread

Related Baking Courses:
A Light lunch is provided on this Baking Fundamentals course as well as all equipment and aprons. For baking courses, we just ask that you bring three large biscuit tins (ideally each around 30cm in diameter) to take your freshly baked goodies home in.
All of our baking and cookery courses take place at our cookery school on the Catton Hall estate on the Derbyshire / Staffordshire border. With ample free parking our location is easy to find & within easy reach of Derby, Leicester, Birmingham and other major conurbations.
